"Ikebana for Mike": A Floral Homage to Mike Kelley's Artistic Legacy
NEO Gallery is proud to present "Ikebana for Mike," a unique exhibition that pays tribute to the late American artist Mike Kelley. This collaborative showcase features the works of floral artists Ema Sono and Kyoko Oshiro, alongside contemporary artist Kaz Oshiro. Inspired by Kelley’s influential oeuvre, the artists have created a series of innovative ikebana arrangements that blend traditional Japanese floral art with contemporary aesthetics.
The exhibition will run from January 11 to February 7, 2025, at NEO LA Gallery in downtown Los Angeles. An opening reception will be held on January 11 from 4 PM to 8 PM. Elemense incense will be used during the reception, adding an olfactory dimension to the visual experience.
Highlights of the exhibition include:
- Collaborative ikebana installations by Ema Sono and Kyoko Oshiro
- Contemporary artworks by Kaz Oshiro
- A unique sensory experience with elemense incense at the opening reception
Visitors are also encouraged to visit PRMTVO, the neighboring store, which will be selling elemense incense products for a limited time during the exhibition.
